How to Use Site

Thank you for visiting us at Model AviationÆs Sport Aviator magazine. Because of its mission to help newer model pilots, Sport Aviator has special features not found on many websites. Before you start exploring Sport Aviator, the following key points should help you get the most from your visit.

Blue Words

A unique Sport Aviator feature is the blue words or phrases you will find inside most articles. Some modeling and aviation terms may not be familiar to many readers. Therefore, we attempt to explain a termÆs meaning right after we use it in an article for then first time. Whenever the definition is too long, or may prove distracting to a more experienced reader, that term is printed in blue. If you donÆt know a what term means, just click on it and its definition will be shown in a separate small window. Do you wonder what a stall is, or what happens during phugoid oscillations? Just click the blue words and find out.

Additional Articles in All Menu Sections

Sport AviatorÆs Home Page usually lists six articles. However, there are many more articles than just 6 in the magazine. Each Menu Section contains additional articles. All sections, such as ôTest PilotÆs Reportsö and ôFlight-Techö, have their own table of contents. For example, the Home Page shows a Test Pilot Report on the SIG Kadet Senior. Going to the Test Pilot Reports SectionÆs table of contents, however, youÆll find a detailed flying report on the Hobbico SuperStar 40 as well. The Flight-Tech section does contain the ôBad Day At The Fieldö article listed on the Home Page. But it also contains ôHow-Toö articles on hinging control surfaces and on making your RTF plane, really Ready-To-Fly.

Linking To Other Sites

Sport Aviator is linked to many sites now, all AMA sites for example, and will shortly be linked to many more. Please feel free to visit these sites. Each link will open in a separate window. That way, you never actually leave Sport Aviator while viewing other sites. This makes it easy to return; just hit the ôXö on the other site and you are right back here.

Segmented Articles

Many of our readers are new to model aviation. There is a lot to learn while enjoying this sport. Unfortunately however, the Law of Gravity is strictly enforced at ALL model flying sites. There is no appeal because of inexperience. Therefore, most Sport Aviator articles are very detailed, with many photos, in order to best help our readers avoid the penalties inherent in breaking GravityÆs Law.

But such detail comes at the price of having longer-than-usual articles. Most Sport Aviator articles are divided into several pages. This speeds loading on your computer while allowing greater photo detail. You can move to the next, or previous, page just by clicking the appropriate term at each pageÆs end. In addition, all pages within an article are listed on the left side with a short title. Just click on the page you want to read and you will instantly go there.

Printing

Some computer screens are not wide enough to accommodate all the text on a page of Sport Aviator. This means that HTML printing is sometimes not desirable. Instead, every page in Sport Aviator has an ôeasy printö icon at the top right. This icon transforms the article into a ôprinter friendlyö Acrobat Reader format. If you do not have Acrobat Reader, it is available free by clicking just under the print icon.

We hope you enjoy reading Model AviationÆs Sport Aviator magazine. Please let us know what you think and what subjects you would like to see covered here. Please contact us at editor@masportaviator.com or center@masportaviator.com. We look forward to hearing from you.
